Proving you pay UK taxes

One of the most frequently processed documents is the HMRC confirmation of residency, often referred to as the certificate of residence. This formal document issued by HMRC confirms an individual is registered with HM Revenue and Customs (the UK tax authority) for payment of UK taxes. The document can be requested from HMRC and is normally stamped and signed by one of their officers.

Another common document is an employee’s P60 end of year statement of earnings. This is normally issued by your employer and details your income during the last financial year.

Proving you are employed
