The legalisation of corporate documents for use in Iraq can seem to be a challenging prospect. This process consists of several steps and there are several authorities who need to validate the document. Whilst this may appear to be an expensive and time consuming process we can offer a fully inclusive service to manage the legalisation of your document from start to finish. At present we are unfortunately restricted with regards to the service we can offer and we are unable to process personal documents.
Initially, each company document is checked and verified and where necessary, the document is then solicitor certified. Following this, the document is presented to both the local Chamber of Commerce and the Arab British Chamber. Finally, the document is attested by the Iraq embassy. Due to the many steps involved this process takes approximately 10-15 working days.
The process for certain documents can vary. Certificates of Origin, for example, have a very specific process that must be followed. Please contact us to see if we can assist with your documents.

What happens to
your document?
It is important to process documents correctly to avoid delays and further expenses. When we legalise your document we will check the document to ensure it has been created correctly and that it is suitable for the attestation service. When documents need to be certified by a solicitor we will include this in our service. The documents are then hand delivered to the FCDO (often called the Foreign Office) for the apostille before they are submitted to the embassy, via the chamber of commerce, for the Iraq attestation.
On completion, your document will have an apostille certificate attached. The embassy will their stamps to attest the document and an official sticker will be applied to confirm the correct fee has been paid to the embassy.
