Degree certificates are legalised when you need to provide evidence of your qualifications to a person or organisation in another country.

Get an Apostille on a Degree Certificate
It is common practice to legalise a copy of a degree certificate (please see the below notes regarding how we make a certified copy). Legalising a qualification document with an apostille permanently marks the document so where possible we recommend we produce a certified copy.
If you are not sure if a certified copy of your document can be issued with the apostille we recommend that you contact the authority requesting the apostille from you. In some countries they ask for all academic documents to be processed as originals. For example, Colombia typically request originals whilst an increasing number of documents for Arab countries are now issued with the apostille on the original document.
For us to make a certified copy of a degree certificate we must either see the original degree certificate in our office or we must contact the issuing university to verify the copy is legitimate. Verifying a degree certificate we have not seen the original of adds additional time and cost to the processing of the document.
Please contact us for further information if you do not want to send us the original degree certificate. An alternative option is for you to have a UK solicitor local to you to make a certified copy to send to us, this means we do not need to see the original as your solicitor is verifying the copy. You must ensure your solicitor certifies the copy correctly and allow extra processing time for your solicitor to be contacted as they may not be on the database of recognised signatures for the issue of the apostille. If we make the certified copy this delay will not occur.
