This document requires solicitor certification in order to be eligible for the apostille. Most orders are completed in just 1-2 working days all being well. If you also need translation or embassy attestation services the processing time will be increased.

The certificate of naturalisation is proof that you have acquired British citizenship. It is a formal certificate issued by the UK government when you have applied to become a British citizen. The application takes around 6 months.

If you need to present the certificate of naturalisation overseas you may be asked to obtain an apostille on the document.

Please note – we cannot assist with your application or obtain a certificate of naturalisation for you.

The UK government are quite clear in their guidance on how to look after your document. It should not be marked, amended, laminated or have any additional stamps added. Therefore, when we legalise a certificate of naturalisation we ensure it is processed correctly –

  • Our solicitor then certifies the document
  • The apostille is added
  • We return the original certificate to you and the legalised copy

You apply for British citizenship with the UK government.

You can apply if-

  • you’ve lived in the UK for 5 years
  • you’ve worked as a Crown servant (for example in the diplomatic service, overseas civil service or armed forces)
  • you have a connection with Gibraltar
  • you’ve lived in Hong Kong

Please note – Only YOU can apply for British citizenship. We cannot do this for you. We provide the apostille when you have the document.

Unfortunately, not! Our solicitor needs to see the original certificate of naturalisation so they know it is genuine. They will then make a copy and process the copy with the apostille.

No, the certificate of naturalisation is processed as a copy with it’s own apostille. It is not put into sets.

The certificate of naturalisation is normally issued with a paper version apostille on a copy of the certificate. We need to see the original certificate so preparing a paper copy with the paper apostille is the simplest solution.

There is no way to verify a certificate of naturalisation that is sent to us as a PDF so we need to see the original certificate. If you want an e-apostille it can be done. We check the original document and arrange for a PDF copy to be made. A digital PDF version of this document will be electronically certified by our solicitor and we can then also obtain the electronic Apostille from the FCDO.
